A design from my story plot, the Shield Generator Tower of Pteradian Federation. The entire building is designed to 'attracts' wind. Wind blow at the building will be 'pulled' to encircling the surface of the building instead of hiting it. This wind is used as a 'base' for their force-field technology, the stronger the wind is, the stronger the building and the shield become. Their buildings can stand in the stroms and tornadoes without a damage. Pteradian race, in my story plot, is the only race who can create a very powerful force-field at a very far-range -- like, forcefield that covered the entire city.
The Shield Generator has 3-steps of protection. First is the outer rings/coils, it can generate powerful shield at far-range. Second is the small coils inside the bigger one, this will generate medium-range shield to protect the far-range shield generator from damage. And the third is the building itself, which can create an extremely powerful short-range shield that could protect building's structure from instruders from space.
